C’mon Coconut Lime Dolewhip, We Are All Rooting for You Disney World

Ah, Dole Whip — a treat almost as famous as Disney World itself (okay, maybe not, but it is to US!).

We love you so much

There have been SO many flavors over the past few years, from mango to coconut to lemon to raspberry. And, of course, there is the classic pineapple we know and love! And, guess what? There’s a new flavor in town! Come with us to try out the latest Dole Whip flavor in Disney World.

This is the Coconut-Lime Dole Whip from Refreshment Outpost in EPCOT! It’s $5.25 and served in a waffle cone. As you can see, it’s a super bright green color!

So vibrant!

At first, this tasted like lime with more of a hint of coconut, kind of like the Mango-Limeade Dole Whip at EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival. The lime tasted like lime sherbet, which was nice and tart.

However, the coconut did not taste like real coconut flavor to us — it tasted more like coconut oil. And, as we continued eating, the after taste of coconut oil was more and more prominent. It left a weird oily feeling in our mouth and the taste was kind of confusing, sort of like soap (which you don’t want to hear about a dessert, usually!).

Why is it…oily?

On the plus side, the oil made this treat very moisturizing, so if you’re looking for a snack and chapstick all in one, this could definitely work! The treat was refreshing and it’s plant-based, so if you don’t eat dairy this could be an option for you. Also note that one of our reporters got the waffle cone along with the Dole Whip, while the other did not for some reason.

Honestly, the waffle cone tasted better than the actual Dole Whip, and it was just a normal, plain waffle cone.

No cone for you

Overall, we were not a huge fan of the way the coconut tasted. If you don’t like the taste of coconut oil, or artificially colored foods, this is not for you. And, if you enjoy the coconut soft-serve over at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom, do NOT expect the same flavor from this treat! It is very different.

We were all rooting for you!

If you DO love coconut oil and are used to the flavor, you might like this! And, if you’re a Dole Whip enthusiast, you should for sure give it a try, because this is a pretty rare flavor! Another one to add to your personal Dole Whip rankings. It also is pretty eye-catching for photos.

Would make a good pic on the ‘gram

This was definitely not our favorite Dole Whip we’ve tried — it’s probably not even in the top 10 — but, you might have a different experience than us! So, give it a try and let us know what you think. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney food news, updates, and reviews.
