Wow, there’s been lots of news at Disney World lately!
From the upcoming returning of the Fantasmic! at the Disney Hollywood Studios and the Festival of Fantasy Parade in Magic Kingdom to a new fast-service restaurant in EPCOT there’s a lot going on. But, there’s also some news we didn’t anticipate! These is a list of the top three surprising things that occurred at Disney World last month!
1. Pause on Annual Pass Sales
We were pleasantly shocked to learn that Disney World stopped the majority of Annual Pass sales in mid-November. Disney suspended sales that included The Pirate, Sorcerer, and IncrediPassuntil further announcement.
The HTML0 Pixie Pass currently remains available.
This pass is $399 , plus tax, and is only accessible to Florida residents. The pass is able to hold three park reservations simultaneously but it also has the longest blocks-out dates among the passes. Other passes can’t be purchased at the moment.
Disney declared that this suspension was in order to manage capacities.
At this time Passholders who have already renewed their passes can do so to any of the four types of passes However, new Passholders will have very limited choices. Annual Pass sales started up again after being suspended for a long time following the park’s closures, and it’s not a surprise that they were paused once more.

2. Character Surprises
November was a month that brought unexpected developments in regards to the interaction with characters in Disney World! We were informed of the first official return of the princess meal, which was announced with the return to the Story Book dining on Artist Pointat Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort on December 16th.
The restaurant will have an updated menu once it reopens.
Now, a restaurant reopening shouldn’t be too surprising, however one with princesses is! The current character meals are accompanied by fur characters rather than face-based characters. The Cinderella’s Royal Table has reopened with the appearance of Cinderella however, it’s is not the full eating experience. It’s a great surprise!
2. Character Surprises
We also had some entertaining interaction with characters during Disney+ Day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! It was a bit surreal to see Russell, Dug, and Mr. Fredricksen from Up, Moana, Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, and Darth Vader from Star Wars!
Additionally, the character dining experiences have been changed at Disney World.
You can now get closer to take your photos with the characters. Get all the details here.

3. Supply Chain Effects on Disney World
There was a less than pleasant experience with supply chain issues that had a shock-inducing effect in Disney World. In November mid-way through we discovered the store at Disneyland’s Hollywood Studios was shut because it was not stocked with enough stock to fill its shelves!
As we enter December, it appears that supply chain problems haven’t yet to be resolved. We’ve witnessed inaccurately labeled materials as well as chicken tenders that aren’t there as possible results due to the supply chain issues.

As you can see, November was QUITE the unexpected month. But, hey, Disney World sure does like to keep us on our toes! As always, keep an eye on DFB so you don’t miss ANY of the surprising news.
